How it works
- Choose a start date and end date. Both are included.
- Select whether weekends and Irish public holidays should be excluded.
- The result separately shows calendar days, weekend days, public holidays and the remaining working days.
Example
A Monday-to-Friday range contains five calendar days and five working days when no public holiday falls in the range. A Monday public holiday reduces the working-day result to four when public holidays are excluded.
Irish rules in plain English
Ireland has ten statutory public holidays. Good Friday is a normal working day unless an employer’s arrangements say otherwise.
A public holiday that falls on Saturday or Sunday is not automatically moved to the next weekday.
“Working day” can have a special contractual or legal definition. This tool uses Monday to Friday, adjusted by the selected exclusions.
This calculator provides an estimate for general information. It is not legal, employment, tax or financial advice.
