Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026This policy explains what information Irish Work Calc processes when you use irishworkcalc.com, why we process it, who receives it and the choices and rights available to you.
1. Who controls your information
Irish Work Calc is the controller of personal data processed through this site. Contact us at privacy@irishworkcalc.com. We have not appointed a data protection officer because the current processing does not require one.
2. Information we process
| Activity | Information | Purpose and EU/EEA legal basis | Retention criteria |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delivering and securing the site | IP address, request URL, date and time, browser/device details, referrer and security events in ordinary server logs. | Provide the site, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and protect systems. Legitimate interests in reliable and secure service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). | Kept only for the operational period needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or rotated, unless an incident or legal duty requires longer retention. |
| Using a calculator | The values you submit, such as dates, hours and pay. | Produce the result you requested (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) or our legitimate interest in providing the requested free tool). Values are processed in memory and are not saved. | For the duration of the request only. |
| Anonymous calculator statistics | Calculator name/slug and calculation time. No entered values, account, cookie ID or IP address is stored in this record. | Understand which tools are useful and maintain the service. Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). | Kept as non-user-level operational statistics while useful for product planning. |
| Security and preferences | Session identifier, language choice and cookie-consent choice. | Protect forms and remember settings you requested. Necessary service and legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)); ePrivacy strictly necessary exemption where applicable. | Session identifier: until the browser session ends. Language: up to 12 months. Consent choice: up to 180 days. |
| Analytics, if permitted | Cookie/client ID, approximate location, pages viewed, session and device/browser information. | Measure visits and improve tools. Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)); you can withdraw it at any time. | Google Analytics cookies can last up to two years; analytics event retention is controlled in the Analytics property and subject to Google’s documented limits. |
| Advertising | Context, ad interactions and, only if permitted, cookies or advertising identifiers used for measurement or personalization. | Fund the free service. Contextual/limited ads operate without optional storage; advertising identifiers and personalization rely on consent where required. | Provider-specific. Optional storage stops when you withdraw permission; existing first-party identifiers are deleted where technically available. |
We do not ask you to enter special-category data, Social Security numbers, payment-card details or account credentials. Please do not place personal information into calculator fields.
3. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Necessary cookies support form security and your selected language and privacy settings. Google Analytics (measurement ID G-SQMKZ5B58Q) loads only after analytics permission. Advertising slots may show contextual or limited advertising without optional advertising storage; advertising cookies, identifiers, measurement and personalization remain controlled by your choice.
Use at any time to change your selection. A browser Global Privacy Control signal is treated as an opt-out of advertising personalization and sale/sharing. See the Cookie Policy for names, durations and controls.
4. Recipients and third-party services
We disclose only what is necessary to providers that help operate the site:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers, which process request and security logs to deliver and protect the site.
- Google Analytics, only when analytics is permitted, for audience measurement.
- Google AdSense or another configured advertising provider, if advertising is enabled, to deliver contextual/limited ads and, only when permitted, measured or personalized ads.
- jsDelivr, which delivers the Bootstrap stylesheet and receives ordinary network request information such as IP address and user agent.
- Authorities or professional advisers where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or address security and legal claims.
The jobs area displays information retrieved server-to-server from named job sources. When you choose an external job link or other third-party link, the destination’s own privacy policy applies and it receives the normal information sent by your browser.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not allow third parties to use calculator entries because those entries are not retained or sent to analytics.
5. International transfers
Some providers, including Google and content-delivery providers, may process information outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where GDPR applies, transfers are made using an adequacy decision (including an applicable EU–US Data Privacy Framework certification) or approved Standard Contractual Clauses, together with supplementary protections where required. Provider documentation contains current transfer details.
6. Rights in Ireland, the EU, EEA and UK
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Because we do not maintain accounts or connect calculator records to individuals, we may be unable to identify data belonging to you. We will not collect extra data solely to identify you.
Send a request to privacy@irishworkcalc.com. We may ask for proportionate verification. You may also complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission or your local supervisory authority.
7. United States state privacy notice
This section supplements the rest of this policy for residents of US states with comprehensive privacy laws. Those laws apply only when their statutory thresholds and scope requirements are met. We voluntarily provide the controls below even where a law does not apply.
Categories used in the previous 12 months
We may have collected identifiers (IP address, cookie or device identifiers), internet activity (pages, interactions and referrer), approximate geolocation derived from IP, and device/browser information. Sources are your browser, your direct use of the service and analytics/advertising providers where permitted. Business purposes are site delivery, security, troubleshooting, measurement and advertising as described above. Recipients are the provider categories listed in section 4.
We have not sold personal information for money. If personalized advertising is enabled, disclosure of identifiers or internet activity for cross-context behavioural advertising may be considered “sharing” under California law or targeted advertising under other state laws. You can opt out through Cookie settings or Global Privacy Control. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of anyone under 16.
Your US privacy choices
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to know/access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of personal information; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling; appeal a refusal; and receive equal service without unlawful discrimination. We do not use personal data for decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects and do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond permitted service purposes.
Email privacy@irishworkcalc.com with “US Privacy Request” and your state in the subject. An authorized agent may submit a request, but we may verify authority and identity as law permits. California residents may use the prominent “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control in the footer.
Do Not Track: browser DNT signals do not have a uniform legal or technical standard, so the site does not respond to DNT. We do honour Global Privacy Control for advertising opt-outs.
8. Children
The service is a general-audience workplace information site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child supplied personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it. Users under the age of digital consent in their country should use the service with a parent or guardian.
9. Security and policy changes
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including HTTPS, secure session settings, restricted administrative access and data minimisation. No internet system is completely secure. We will update this policy when practices or legal requirements materially change and will provide a prominent notice or request new consent where required. The date at the top shows the current version.
